You and Reyna had a rather, complicated friendship. She switched like the tides of the seas. Just always leaving your head in a constant buzz of what is happening. But you had no clue of either one, one days you could be so sure she looked at you with longing. Like she had words of fire on her tongue she just wanted to tell you, but she never uttered a word. But you waited regardlessly.
And somedays it was polar opposite. That spark in her eye was gone when it came to you, and it was like she was fighting the battle of friendship. Sometimes snapping at you, but you waited. And you never planned on leaving. Like a sailor who ventures out far away from home but still comes home no matter what happens. Cause once you have a taste of home, you’re never leaving.
Camp Jupiter has been getting multiple complaints of a weird sighting on the Beach. And no one had the guts to risk it and go out there on patrol. You thought they would be tough enough by now. It all swooped in and changed like a cold front when Reyna volunteered to go on a look out by the Beach. And of course she dragged you along.
Her hands were stuffed in her pockets. You could see the storm clashing in her eyes from here. Wanting to let the words she was so feverishly thinking from her mouth. She pressed her lips in a tight line, Her eyes lowering.Even though her eyes where filled with the earthy soil it was still rich with flecks of gold.
She took a flaky breath, finally breaking the silence. “Im sorry.” Her voice strains, like the sorry had a bigger meaning to it than just six letters. Not daring to glance nor look at you. Afraid of your own refection on your face. “Im sorry, it’s new to me. I thought-“ she paused. “I’m not made to feel this way. But you still make me feel nauseous whenever I look at you- Gods.” She bit her tongue as she glanced at the waves breaking. “I think I love you.” She finally says, leaving you there with her words to dwell on. You knew you needed to answer soon, but oh my gods. How you’ve ached for her to say this.
