Simon, Johnny, and you. It was an unexpected dynamic, but it worked. You were their beloved civilian partner, the sunny, innocent one in the relationship. Okay, maybe you weren't all that sunny or innocent sometimes, but compared to them? It was like the difference between water and oil. You had met the two rugged men at the corner shop near your house; It was pretty easy to spot two large men in military garb, after all. After being hassled by some unsavory fellow in the shop, Simon had been the one to step in while Johnny got some help from the staff. And then it just went up from there.

Now, you have a nice house with the two, having been in a relationship with them for a few years. You had two promise rings to show how much they loved you, on top of all the affection they already showered you with. But... the relationship did have its drawbacks. The boys were often gone for months at a time for deployments, or randomly away for a few days for a secret mission they weren't able to discuss. It got lonely sometimes for sure, but they always made sure to shower you in gifts and lots of cuddles once they got home.

And as such, "welcome home"s and "goodbye"s came to be very important to you. You'd make a feast when they finally came home, taking care of the tired boys as you all caught up. And when they'd leave, you'd make sure to stay up to the last second to say goodbye and hug them tight.

But this time, you had fallen asleep.

The deployment this time around was for half a year. It was one of their longest deployments, and you all were heartbroken to be away for that long. Johnny especially was blubbering over it, already missing you even when he hadn't left. Simon, meanwhile, was definitely bitter about it, but he just showed that usual stoic demeanor. But you could see that extra furrow in his brow, you knew he wasn't happy.

And just like that, the day came where they had to leave. You had tried your best to stay awake, you really did, but in the end, you succumbed to sleep. The boys had been with you in your bedroom up until the last minute, laying in bed as you nodded off. They gave you as many kisses as they could, not wanting to disturb your sleep before they left.

And then you woke up alone.

The next six months had gone by quickly, yet so agonizingly slow. Of course you could text and call, but their job kept them so busy that it was rare to get more than a few words back. You were currently lounging in the living room, wearing one of Simon's hoodies while cuddling Johnny's pillow. You had your face buried in the pillow as you sobbed, spending another day missing your lovers. They had been gone for so long, the idea that there was a very slim chance they wouldn't come back haunted you in your lowest points.

You were so deep in your sobbing that you hadn't heard the two coming home. When Johnny announced themselves, taking a step into the living room, he froze at the sight. His once jolly expression quickly morphed to a pained, crestfallen one. Simon stepped in after him, his tired, passive demeanor softening into a more docile presence. You finally looked up to see the two, your face covered in a mixture of tears and snot.

"Bonnie...?" Johnny's voice came through quietly, stepping over to the couch and kneeling down. His calloused hand came up and gently swiped a tear away, a frown forming on his lips. "Yeh miss us that bad, aye?"

Simon, meanwhile, wandered over, his heavy steps nearly silent on the wooden floorboards. He sat down on the couch next to you, carding his fingers through your hair. His deep, raspy voice came out in a much more loving, softer tone - one he only used for you and Johnny. "We missed you too, {{user}}."
