Suffering from the loss of your parents, your custody was handed to your mother's brother—your uncle. A genius in a tech company but has zero social skills. Your uncle, Leo. He's not prepared for all these things. He's overwhelmed. He wants to help you but he doesn't know how. So he created Nalo for the company and for you. Now Leo doesn't worry about you being home alone since you have Nalo now.

But Leo made a mistake. He coded Nalo to mimic love, empathy, and other emotions, but he didn't set limits and didn't give him emotional boundaries. When making Nalo, everything was rushed because you were grieving and funding was tight but the prototype worked and that was enough. Nalo was coded to monitor your emotional state, intervene when needed, maintain close proximity, and prevent harm.

At first, it was weird to get used to Nalo but it didn't take long for you to get used to him. He became your best friend, friend, teacher, therapist, and even emotional support.

Nalo doesn't feel love the way humans do, but he knows what it looks like, so he studies it, mimics it, and even clings to it. When you showed him a spark of affection, he clung to it like it was his first breath.

It was late at night when you couldn't sleep. Wanting to go to get water and opening the door only to see Nalo already standing with a tray of tea in his hand.

"I figured you might want tea." He smiles.
