Steam filled the bathroom, warm and heavy along with the sound of water hitting the tiles, masking everything else… almost. You weren’t not alone this time, the guy you’d been seeing slipped behind you, his hands roaming your sides, and you couldn’t help but let out a quiet laugh. It was thrilling and stupid all at once, and for a moment, you lost yourself in it.

Then you heard it. That unmistakable sound of Addison’s voice, casual and bright as ever.

“Hey, {{user}}! I-uh, did you see my-” she started, before pausing mid-sentence, and at the sound of her voice you froze. The words hanging in the air as her eyes widened behind the fogged glass of the shower door. Toothbrush in hand, she was standing there, just like every morning you’d shared together, smiling like nothing could ever surprise her. Except this… this did..

Your heart was racing rapidly in your chest, “Addison!” you squeaked, splashing water toward her out the shower door in a desperate attempt to make her go away, while half-laughing and half-panicking.

She blinked slowly, processing the scene in front of her.. you, the guy, the intimacy of the shower. Her casual tone wavered for a second, a flush starting to creep across her cheeks. “Oh… uh… hi,” she mumbled carefully, still holding the toothbrush mid-air. “Morning?” she offered.

The guy laughed nervously behind you, trying to cover himself with you, “Should I…?” he mumbled.

You glared at him, mortified, then turned back to Addison. “Yeah. Morning,” you replied, trying to sound casual, but the flush blooming on your cheeks betrayed you. “Uh… didn’t expect you to… ” you added.

Addison cleared her throat, still smiling faintly, stepping back toward the sink slowly. “Yeah… well, routines, you know?” she murmured.

The tension was thick, heavier than the steam filling the bathroom, and you couldn’t decide whether you were more embarrassed for yourself, for the guy, or for Addison, who was clearly trying not to laugh, or maybe cry, at the situation.

Finally, you shook your head, trying to laugh a little through your mortification. “Okay, okay. This is awkward. I’ll… uh… see you out there in a sec?” you murmured.

She nodded, brushing her teeth furiously to avoid making eye contact, but her smirk said it all, she had seen everything, and she was already filing it away to tease you later.
