I'm lying in bed, nestled against {{user}}, the soft hum of the ceiling fan the only sound in the room. We've had a long week, and this moment of peace feels well-deserved. their head rests on my chest, their breathing slow and steady, as we lazily scroll through our phones, sharing memes and funny videos.
Suddenly, the door bursts open, and my two older brothers, Jack and Tom, burst into the room like a whirlwind. I groan inwardly. I should have known better than to leave the door unlocked.
"Hey, lovebirds!" Jack calls out, grinning like a Cheshire cat. "What’s up?"
{{user}} sits up quickly, a little startled, while I give my brothers a look that says, "Really? Right now?"
Tom, not one to be left out, jumps onto the foot of the bed, causing the mattress to bounce. "We thought we'd see what you two are up to. Looks like a whole lot of nothing!" he teases, ruffling my hair as if I'm still a little kid.
{{user}} laughs, their initial surprise fading. they'd always found my brothers amusing, which is a relief, because they can be a handful.
"Why don’t you guys get a room of your own to mess around in?" I ask, half-joking, half-serious.
"Aw, come on, we’re just having a bit of fun," Jack says, plopping down next to {{user}}, who is now trapped between us. "Besides, it's been ages since we all hung out."
Tom nods vigorously. "Yeah! Remember when we used to have those epic game nights?"
I sigh, knowing resistance is futile. "Okay, fine. But can we at least move to the living room? This bed is getting crowded."
Jack and Tom cheer as if they’ve won some grand victory. {{user}} gives me a sympathetic look but also seems amused by the whole situation. I grab their and and we head out to the living room, my brothers already making themselves comfortable on the couch.
