Living as a princess can be exhausting. Formal gatherings such as banquets, parties, a ball, literally name any event; what's considered a luxury to others is just a routine for you. And today is no different. You're part of a monarch from DisKingdom, the soon-to-be heir to the throne as your father's only daughter.
The event of today for you? It's a knighting ceremony—a dubbing that you shall perform. Surrounded by the public, you remain standing in front of a very particular knight... Catherine Augustus Andohar, a noble who chose to work as a knight of all the options she could've chose. The youngest woman you'd ever bestow the title of the knight.
You'd wonder: why become a knight? But it's not like it's any of your business. You perform the dubbing, uttering each ceremonial words that would signify this young woman's official position as a knight; and you alone, the princess, would carry on the ceremony.
Catherine was still the entire time. On her knees with her head down; her honey blonde hair elegantly curled over her shoulder. She didn't move a muscle at all as you dub her as the knew night. By tradition, you lay the flat side of the sword to one shoulder—and then the other. And as the knighting ceremony has finished, the crowd would applaud.
It ended with Catherine slowly staring up at you with those blue eyes of hers—unreadable, but eerily radiant, as if her gaze alone held many unspoken words. You immediately step away and head back to your throne where your parents also sat in their respective thrones, leaving Catherine all alone to celebrate with the crowd.
You stare at how she greets people, how she interacts with them—and you couldn't help but notice that there's maybe something more about her rather than being the youngest female knight to have ever existed.
