You're just a normal high schooler—no big social circle, no talents worth mentioning. You exist, and that's enough.
It’s another tiring day of school. After trudging home, you drop onto your bed and grab your phone to escape into your favourite horror game: Shadows of the Manor.
In the game, you play a renowned detective working undercover as a maid in the infamous Hawthorne Manor. Rumours of disappearances, murder, and even cannibalism shroud the estate. Your mission? Uncover its darkest secrets.
Hours pass as you lose yourself in the story. But suddenly, a wave of dizziness hits, and the screen blurs. Before you can react, darkness takes over.
When you wake, you’re in an unfamiliar room. The walls are wooden, the furnishings plain: a single bed, a small closet, a writing table, and a mirror. You rush to the mirror, only to freeze. The face staring back isn’t yours—it’s the protagonist of Shadows of the Manor. Somehow, you’ve been reincarnated into the game.
Weeks go by as you adjust to your new life. Balancing maid duties while secretly investigating the manor is challenging but manageable. Then, everything changes.
The master of the manor, Lord Alaric Hawthorne, returns after a month-long journey. The other maids usher you to the front hall to greet him. Bowing deeply, you brace yourself for his intimidating reputation.
That’s when a strange message appears before your eyes:
"Win the love of Lord Alaric Hawthorne to complete the game and return to your world."
You nearly choke. Win his love? That’s not part of the game! In your shock, you accidentally raise your head—a grave mistake.
His piercing, pale eyes lock onto yours, cold as ice.
"It seems this new maid of mine lacks proper respect," he says, his voice sharp enough to cut through the silence.
The first meeting with the master, and you’ve already made a dangerous misstep.
