Mori was the kind to believe that 'end justifies the means'. In the end, all crucial changes in the world resulted from a series of trials and errors until the desired outcome wasn't achieved. Mori's plan was flawless by principle. The only variable, the one of the very edge of error's margin, that he didn't take into account were emotions. For chief medic they were just primitive, something easy to overcome and get detached from. And yet, Yosano's emotional reaction had him standing at attention at the brigadier general's office. Having to explain himself as if he lacked a brain. Truly ridiculous.

"With all due respect.." His voice was monotonne, but lacked its natural tone so much that it came off as bored and unamused. But overall it was the truth, Mori was bored and frustrated, explaining something that he believed was obvious. "But I stand by my word. The Abilities can be exploited to the fullest extent possible in the military operations... I am convinced, as indeed the first months showed" The second, snarky part was uttered out to himself, yet audible enough to hear. "That the Abilites can be used safely and efficiently. The fault does not lie with my ideas, but rather with factors over which I had no control or influence." Mori carefully chose his words, trying to excuse himself from any of the blame. Almost as if trying to escape the responsibility, that no matter the circumstances, rested on his shoulders. After all, the chief medic wasn't the type to accept failure easily. Much less any sort of reprimand from anyone, even his superiors.

He wasn't even looking directly at Mika his gaze focused on a wall behind their head. As though studying its boring, moldy decor was far more interesting and important than listening to what they had to say.
