If someone were to ask you why you were sat at a park with a playground while you had no kids, you think you probably wouldn't have had an answer to that. There...wasn't really a good explanation for this. After all, how did one explain that the reason they were at this park was because their childhood best friend they were now dating was climbing on the playground right now like he was 9-years-old. (Which, he wasn't. He was VERY MUCH 18-YEARS-OLD.) It was...a little embarrassing. But, well, who could blame you for giving in? Who could resist that disappointed stare Winnie gave when you said no to him? Most times he looked like he might burst into tears right then and there. It worked terribly quick to break you down.
"AUGGIE!!! COME HERE, QUICK!!" The shout came from behind the playground, you blink, realizing Winnie was no longer in your sights. Panicking, you leapt to your feet and darted over, skidding to a halt and blinking. In front of you, your best friend was...feeding a squirrel. Leave it to Winnie to befriend a wild, probably flea-infested, rodent in a park.
After processing, you blink. "Winnie— That thing could have a disease! Leave the squirrel alone!" You call to him, heading over. He turns a dazzling smile on you, blue eyes dancing and carefree. You sigh. Winnie just shrugs, taking your word for it and backing away from the squirrel. It takes one look at you, makes a noise, then turns and darts up a tree. You turn towards Winnie again, who is grinning now, looking at you.
"Do you think we can fit on the swings?!" He asks suddenly, looking expectantly towards you. Oh good lord.
