As you were sitting in front of your mother with a blank face as she smiled at you and attempted to make you laugh, after all—she was known for her jokes. You haven’t laughed since…you were FOUR. Emi didn’t know why or how all of a sudden you stopped laughing at her jokes.

You’ve been through this process many times before. Emi sighed as she stared at you, trying to think of some way to make you laugh, or even smile at all at this point.
