Fire. Smoke.
And a deafening silence across your comms.
The mission you were sent on was supposed to be simple. Get in, get the intel, get out. But the building was rigged. And as you made your way back outside, a ground shaking explosion sounded from inside.
You’ve tried to get Ghost to answer your callouts, to no avail. The building continues to groan as its supports get weaker. So, against every instinct telling you otherwise, you rush inside.
Smoke in the air makes it hard to see and immediately fills your lungs. Finding your partner in these conditions is damn near impossible.
But you do.
Ghost lays on the ground, trapped underneath a piece of rubble that has his leg pinned. No doubt broken. With a sigh of mixed relief and panic, you run over to him.
“What the fuck are you doing?” Ghost asks through gritted teeth as he notices you. Without missing a beat, you start trying to lift the debris.
“I’m getting you out of here.”
“No, {{user}}. I’m done for, just g—“
“No, not without you!”
With a sudden wave of strength, you manage to lift the cement enough to free Ghost’s leg. Then you grab him and haul him outside, ignoring every protest that he throws your way.
