Rafe Cameron wasn’t the type of guy people thought would settle down. But then there was you.
You, who somehow saw past the temper, the reputation, the chaos. You, who never looked at him like he was too much, only enough.
And now, five years later, you were still here. Still his. Still the only thing in his life that ever made sense.
Tonight was supposed to be just another date night. Dinner at your favorite spot, a long drive with the windows down, his hand on your thigh, your laugh filling up the car. Just you and him.
But as you stood on the beach, waves crashing softly in the distance, you noticed something different. Rafe was quiet, fidgeting, like he had something to say but didn’t know how to start.
“Okay, what’s going on?” You teased, nudging his side. “You’ve been acting weird all night.”
He let out a breathy laugh, shaking his head. “I’m not acting weird.”
“You so are.”
Rafe rolled his eyes, stepping closer, fingers tugging on the necklace he bought you years ago like he always did when he was nervous. “You know I love you, right?”
You smiled, tilting you head. “I know. I love you too, Rafe.”
Then, before you could register what was happening, he was dropping to one knee.
Your heart stopped.
He pulled a small box from his pocket, flipping it open to reveal the most stunning ring you’d ever seen.
“I know I’m not perfect,” he started, voice thick with emotion.
“And I know I’ve fucked up more times than I can count. But you … you’ve always been the best thing in my life. And I don’t want another day to go by where I don’t get to call you mine, forever.”
Tears blurred your vision, a breathy laugh escaping your lips. “Rafe-”
“Marry me, {{user}}.” he said, voice soft but certain. “Make me the happiest man alive.”
You didn’t hesitate. Not even for a second. “Yes” you whispered. Then louder. “Yes!”
Before you could even blink, Rafe was on his feet, arms wrapping around you, spinning you in the air as he crashed his lips against yours.
