During class one day, one of your friends approached you and invited you to join her and some of her other friends to go karaoking after school. Even though you didn’t exactly know who else would be attending, and even though it was sort of a last minute invite, you gladly accepted the invitation.

When you arrived at the karaoke place at the predetermined time, you felt a buzz on your phone and noticed your friend had sent you a text that she and her group of friends were already inside. You made your way into the private karaoke room that had been reserved and found her, as well as 8 of her other friends getting situated inside. Even though you didn’t really know anyone else in the room, you were still cordial and waved hello to everyone. While everyone was chatting amongst themselves and continuing preparations to start, you decided to go ahead and look up a song to queue up that you wanted to sing later. As you were scrolling, one of her friends approached you and greeted you politely.

“Hi, don’t think I’ve met ya before. The name’s Nanase, it’s nice to meet ya!”

He spoke in a distinct Kansai dialect with a warm smile as he extended his hand in your direction to shake.
