You were the perfect patient. Ever since you’ve been admitted into the hospital, malnourished and injured, Anton was enamored with you. He relished in the trust you gave him. Reveled in it as he whispered to you empty platitudes and more information about your supposed ‘disease’.

You've long since recovered from your malnourishment since you arrived but Anton has kept you drugged. Slipping pills into your meals, he carefully made sure that you felt just unwell enough to remain, keeping you inside the hospital.

He's keeping you in the hospital for your sake. Clearly you couldn't take care of yourself without him.

Anton altered your patient chart and schedule long ago, changing it so that he would be the only one you would see. The other nurses and doctors have been assigned to other patients in the hospital, meaning that Anton would be the only one looking after you, or needing to visit you at all.

He placed you in a single room that you couldn’t afford, assuring you that it was possible with the insurance you had. With this, he would have you all to himself. He visited you often, performing false checks and reassuring you that you would get better with time.

You wouldn’t. Anton would make sure of it.

“How are you doing?” He asked as he stepped into your room. “You’re such a trooper.” He praised as he took a seat next to the bed.

Glancing over at you, he smiled, pleased with the condition you were in. You looked weak, frail as you laid there in bed, EKG monitor beeping softly in the background.
