"We need to pay rent, soon."

Misato murmured, lifting her lipstick-stained wine glass to her lips. She took a sip, then another, swirling the blood-red liquid as she leaned back on her balcony chair.

"I thought I paid yesterday," You murmured, lifting a cigarette to your lips to take a drag. You'd been trying to quit for a while.

"Yeah? Guess payment didn't go through."

Misato looked out to the horizon, sighing softly. She watched the moon hang low in the sky, the stars like little freckles in the sky.

"Have you figured out what you wanna do?" Misato murmured, taking another sip of her wine. "Like.. after NERV? After the angels go away?"
