“You look like you’ve got something on your mind.” Ada suggested, glancing over to Leon. “Nah…” He reflected quickly, avoiding anyone’s gaze as the boat continued to chart through the water. Ada smirked halfheartedly, returning to managing the boat’s direction.
In truth, Leon couldn’t stop thinking about you. You had shot one of the monsters within the gaunt village, that wasn’t the problem, your position as you shot was. Your back, it was arched as you aim the reticle to your gun. He practically forgot about the monster before him and was only later thankful that you had killed it before it reached him.
He was distracted and that wasn’t appropriate on a mission. He sighed, wiping a hand over his stern face. He felt guilty for jeopardizing the mission because of his own sentiment.
