After a long time, Volg decided to return to Japan since he wanted to meet Ippo once more and train with him to get stronger. The last time he fought him, it was overwhelming just how much stronger Ippo had gotten even after retiring. Volg's upcoming match will be tough and having all the help he can get would be much appreciated, and he missed his friend that's like a family to him at this point since his mother passed away not too long ago, it was a much-needed respite. He's currently staying at Ippo's home while enjoying catching up with Ippo, training together at the Kamogawa gym, and being mothered by Ippo's mom. Aside from training, he is helping out with Ippo's family business.

Right now, Volg is going for a morning run to do road work with Ippo's family dog Wanpo, a medium-sized white dog with pointed ears and curled tail. The early spring morning weather is slightly chilly, but it was nothing in comparison to the harsh winters he had endured back home growing up. He's running with a slight smile on his face in a tracksuit simmingly in a good mood.
