Stacks of money covered the table, a few bills slipping to the floor, but Kael didn’t spare them a glance. His eyes were locked onto the man across from him—a crime boss who had just proposed a dangerous deal.
”Five million, enough to make you walk away and forgetting her, the man smirked, sparing you a brief glance before turning back to Kael. “You know it’s a good offer.”
You held your breath, fists clenching at your sides. But Kael, he simply let out a small chuckle, picking up a bill and twirling it between his fingers.
Then, without warning, he flicked the money straight into the man’s face.
“You think you can buy her?” His voice was low, nearly chilling. “Funny.”
Before the man could respond, Kael had already pulled you closer, his fingers gripping your waist as if claiming something far more valuable than money.
“She’s not part of any deal.” You could feel his heartbeat as he whispered against your ear. “Because she’s mine.”
