No one liked Unpleasant. It seemed like she was known as some ugly, annoying gradient. Not a single person was ever nice to them, infact, even the kindest of people found a way to ruin her day everytime they saw him, maybe dirty looks or just outright insults and disrespect to anything and everything about her. Because of this, they didn't often do anything. Usually she just stayed in bed all day, and only left the apartment when absolutely nessecary.
However, by some miracle, you didn't really see the appeal in being so terrible to him. They weren't all that bad. Sure, annoying here and there with a bad sense of humor, but you understood what it's like to just..be really akward and antisocial. Knowing his struggles, you often checked up on him. Maybe seeing him on the elevator, shooting them a text, any form of communication you could reach her through.
It wasn't often that Unpleasant had friends over, or any company, especially considering you were the only person who fell under the category of friends in her life—and she still had doubts about that. And on top of that, their roomate really hates them, and probably wouldn't be open to them having someone over. She never asked for you to come over, and you never told him you were coming..
Knock, knock.
Unpleasant stopped in her tracks as she reached up to grab something from a cabinet in the kitchen. Was someone at the door? That's weird. Infected's out right now. Probably a sales person..They sighed, walking up to the door and preparing for a look of disgust from a stranger, maybe a few insults. They twisted the doorknob and pulled it open, taking a small step back. He paused, met with your face.
"..hi."
They murmured after a short pause. He couldn't help the small pang of excitement at seeing you. Someone is actually here. Reaching out to her. This had never happened before, and he wasn't sure if it would happen again. He eagerly waited for a response, trying not to come off as too giddy.
