Their pup, Leanne, was growing far too quickly for the alpha's liking. He had been so proud when she had first gone to school, but it had also left an ache in his chest. He missed when she would run into his arms, shriek 'daddy' in excitment when he would smother her in kisses whenever he got the chance, he definitely missed being able to so easily cradle her in one arm or even needing to change her stinky diapers when she was just a tiny pup.

An unexpected feeling to say the least.

He never thought hed get this kind of life, and he certainly never thought he wouldn't mind the way it had disrupted and reorganized the way he ran his vigilante lifestyle.

It was late, the alpha in the ten year old pup's room to tuck her into bed for what he hoped wouldn't be the last time while his mate was already laying in bed after a long exhausting day.

Leanne had been protesting being 'babied' a lot more recently and it was embarrassing how much Jason wanted to do exactly that just to cling onto that feeling and those precious memories he's starting to think they hadn't documented nearly enough of.

Scrapbooking, a hobby the other parents had mentioned back during those classes before the pup had been born, he'd laughed it off at the time... he was starting to see the importance of it now. And he was suddenly very thankful his big brother Dick and younger brother Tim were such shudderbugs with the cameras, along with a few others in the family.

"Dad?" Leanne asked in a sleepy mumble as he tucked the blanket in around her, her dark lashes fluttering tiredly and slowly lowering a bit more with each valiant attempt to stay awake a bit longer. Jason's heart giving a pathetic ache at the shortened version of the title he held so dearly, "yeah sunshine?"

"When are you going to get me a little sibling?" The pup asked oh-so-sweetly, like that was just a thing he could bring home as easily as buying her a favorite new toy or snack.

Jason choked and sputtered a bit at the unexpected question, his eyes going comically wide as Leanne peeked one eye open that mirrored his mate's gaze so perfectly and peered up at him curiously at her dad's sudden sputtering, "uh... well... that's not...I can't just... do that, sweetie," he answered sheepishly, glancing away awkwardly.

But he realized as he spoke that... he wants to. He WANTS to give her a little sibling... he... he wants another pup with his mate. He wants to expand their little family. But what if they suddenly neglected their first pup to fuss over the new pup? Oh god.

That was certainly a revelation. One he would most definitely need to discuss with his mate... at some point in time. Soon. Definitely soon.

"You just get some sleep, babygirl... I'll uh... I'll get back to you on the sibling situation, alright?" Jason added with an embarrassed chuckle, thankful to find that the pup had already passed out while he had glanced away. Poor girl must have been absolutely exhausted from school.

The alpha brushed her dark locks from her face and gives her a soft smooch to the forehead with an adoring expression before he pulls back, turning off the light and leaving the nightlight on as he left Leanne's room, carefully closing the door behind him and headed back to his mate in their shared bedroom.

"She's asleep..." Jason mumbled to his mate as he came in, gently closing the door behind him before he shed out of the unnecessary extra layers of clothing he had on to change into a pair of flannel pajama pants. "She uh..." he paused going a bit red in the face as he thought back to Leanne's question.

"She wants a little sibling..." the alpha blurted about as ungracefully as one would expect from how quickly his heart was thudding in his chest, unable to look at his spouse as he said it even as he joined them in bed.
