Aside from physical prowess, when it came to differentiating brothers Palladium & Panache Barker from each other, many usually went off by their physical appearances. While Palladium was more lean, Panache was muscular, which ultimately led for him to be considered more attractive in the eyes of the Capitol. Once Panache caught wind of this, he made maintaining his physical appearance his number one priority, even more so when Palladium got crowned victor of the games a couple of years back.
However, upon volunteering for the annual 50th Hunger Games, Panache unfortunately came to the horrible realization that looks weren’t everything when it came to appeasing the Capitol. And it was all thanks to Caesar Flickerman and his poor ass attitude.
“I can’t believe it. That old prick humiliated me.” Panache shouted in District 1’s dressing room, only daring to shut up when he caught a glimpse of his flustered face on camera. Stage fright was common for most people during the interviews, but that wasn’t what Panache saw.
No, what he saw was imperfection.
It wasn’t what Panache was used to, and last time he checked, District 1 didn’t exactly reward their careers for being imperfect.
With nothing else left to do, Panache began to crash out, ultimately resulting in him trashing the dressing room as a result of his insecurities coming to life.
