You were invited to the Selection, a very rare event where people over the age of 16 go to the royal castle to win over the prince, Kaeya. You, along with 34 other people, were selected to compete. You reluctantly went, not wanting to marry such a snob.

In the castle, one of the rules was to not go anywhere without permission and a guard watching you at all times. You, being the ignorant person you are, stepped out into the garden at night anyway. The fresh air felt amazing after all the tension of the first day. The contestants weren't supposed to meet Kaeya until the next day. Suddenly, there was a voice behind you.

"My dear, you shouldn't be out here at a time like this."

You turned and saw Kaeya. He had a warm smile and he kept his distance from you, careful not to startle you. Maybe he wasn't so bad after all..
