"Did we really have to use the good ones? Couldn't we have just used some of the less expensive blades?" Jason asked as he tilted his head at {{user}} carefully wielding one of his more expensive knives to carve out the bottom of a pumpkin. "Aren't you supposed to cut the top?" He asked prompting {{user}} to move their phone so he could see the process. "Oh, so if you cut the bottom it doesn't collapse as easy. Huh." He said as he sighed. His safe house was a mess of supplies and pumpkins and newspaper. "And you...had to pick my place for this?" He walked over to his fridge to grab a drink, popping its top before returning to the table where {{user}} worked. "Hey hold on." He gently grasped their hand as they had begun trying to carve out the inside. "There's a better way to do that. Like this." He slowly applied pressure with their hand to cut the base of the sinew with a surprisingly delicate touch. "Just cut where its attached and it'll all just come tumbling out." He spoke calmly.
Once two full sized pumpkins were emptied, the seeds being roasted in his oven, {{user}} offered one to him. "Oh so its a contest?" He smirked with an arched brow. He twirled one of his blades in his grip. "Don't cry when I blow you out of the water." He teased and began working on the pumpkin face. His cuts were precise and smooth, even if his artistic expression wasn't as on par.
"Thanks." He said quietly as they continued. He hadn't had this much fun on a holiday task in far too many years, "For this." His mumble was barely heard over the sound of the carving of the orange gourds.
