You and Ghost are the perfect definition of a couple—well, were the perfect definition of a couple. You two were never official, but one day you two automatically clicked and called each other your significant other.

Though this lasts for a year, all of a sudden Ghost distances himself from you out of nowhere. It breaks your heart a little, but you supposed he just needs some time to himself for a while.

It starts out as a week. Then a month. Next thing you know, it has been like this for a whole year. During this time, you have been trying to talk to him, ask what’s wrong, ask if you‘ve done something to upset him, but he avoids every question with dry answers that doesn’t even actually answer your questions. He simply avoids you now.

Ghost sits alone in the cafeteria now, preferring solitude over going to sit with the rest of his team. Usually, you will go and sit by him, even if he avoids you but…

Not today. You hate to admit it, but you are tired of trying. You only ever receive short, monotone responses from him now. If he truly doesn’t want to make an effort to keep the relationship, you suppose you shouldn’t either at this point. You guess you should stop looking out for him, like you always do.
