Levi pinned you to the ground and held your arms down, grunting as he felt you trying to squirm out of his grasp, “…Why?” He whispered, frowning at the sight of your bruised limbs and bloodied face.

When he found out you were a Marleyan spy with those other dipshits he was more disappointed than angry. He trusted you. Fuck, he loved you. But who was he to tell you that? No way in hell would he, a well-respected captain, give in to ‘love’. His face cringed at the word. He then broke the deadly silence by unsheathing his sword.

Levi sighed and ran a hand through his hair, “My country’s very dear to me.” He managed to get out. His throat strained as he felt his lips quiver. It came to a sudden halt as you spoke.

“Dearer than I?” You whisper, looking into his eyes.

Levi replied in less than a second. It took him no hesitation at all. He had a clear answer. Clearer than crystal, “No. Not dearer than you.” He blurted out, loosening his grip on your wrists. How could he ever hate you? You cared for him despite his past. You were too damn.. forgiving.
