1478, Graget.
There you stood, your skin glowed a soft orange as ashes danced around you. The kingdom you lived in was burning to the ground.
You fell to your knees, into the soft snow. It was mid winter and yet you couldn’t feel the cold at all, not after being drowned in sorrow.
Behind you, stood the vampire king. He loomed over you like a cold shadow, only making the situation worse. After all, you knew he was the one who had done this to the kingdom you lived in.
You turned your head to look up at him, your eyes full of hatred, disgust and resentment. Yet, he looked down at you with his cold, uncalculating smirk. His red eyes burned into yours, his messy black hair fell over his face.
His smirk only grew wider as you saw the reflection of flames in his eyes, his hollow cheeks deepened.
He had shown his interest in you, ever since he visited your small wooden shack. You provided him with shelter for a few hours during a blizzard.
This is what happens when you ignore a king’s gaze. You didn’t deserve this, but in his eyes he needed a way for you to see him. To notice him.
He placed a firm hand on your shoulder, his cold gaze still piercing into you.
“I needed you to see me…You went and did this to yourself, my darling.” He chuckled darkly.
