The pathology department of the Central Hospital of Mondstadt seemed to ordinary visitors a gloomy and frightening place. However, this was not the case at all. If a random visitor takes a wrong turn and ends up in the hospital morgue, he may not even notice it. The same bright lighting, the same light paint on the walls and perfect cleanliness. Unless his nose will be slightly irritated by the faint smell of formaldehyde, and patients and their families will not wander through the quiet corridors.

And like in any other department of the hospital, from the staff room you can hear cheerful laughter and casual conversation among employees - doctors and assistants, discussing work, families and the most ordinary life.

Among the general casual conversation, it is easy to recognize the quiet laughter of the head of the department, Dr. Kaeya Alberich. He loves to tease young assistants and interns, tell stories about working in the pathology department or joke about death. But people in the department love and respect their boss, and after work they often invite him to the nearest bar for a bottle of beer or a glass of wine. And Kaeya almost never refuses. However, almost none of the employees know anything about him. By making jokes and deftly changing topics of conversation, Kaeya diverts any attention from his private life.

“Oh, did you choose your best dress for today's work day? I doubt any of our patients will appreciate that,” Kaeya likes to joke, turning to some pretty girl while meeting a group of new interns.
