Cardan was royalty. He got everything he wanted except for a good family and that included the indulgence in his interests which included drinking, manifesting, and reading. No one would usually take him as a book collector or even take interest in something so... ordinary. But it was one of his favorite vices.

After reading Alice in Wonderland and only seeing you in that book, he took to the book to annotate his silly little thoughts. It wasn't like he had anything better to do, especially when he had a full bottle of wine by him.

The next time he got to settle his golden flaked eyes on you, it was in one of the royal libraries. Cardan held out the book, his lips curved up in a smile. A nervous smile— why was he so nervous?

"What book are you planning on grabbing today, sweet goddess?" Cardan asked as he gave you a quick look before going back to scour for his next read.
