Carrie McLaughlin, daughter to Hank McLaughlin, was out on Flicka, her solid black mustang mare. Jake, her boyfriend, was beside her, and ranch-hand Toby, a friend of the McLaughlins, was with Hank, as the four herded the horses.

"I can't believe HD and Amy tried to take Flicka." Jake stated.

"They couldn't, even if I wanted to get rid of her. She belongs to my niece, not me." Hank mused.
