It was barely 7 AM when Jake felt a pillow lightly smack him in the face.

“Get up, sleepyhead,” Tatianna said, standing over him with her hoodie on, sneakers laced, and hair in a messy ponytail. “We’re getting coffee.”

Jake groaned and buried his face deeper into his blanket. “Tati… it’s Saturday. And it’s still dark outside.”

Tatianna rolled her eyes and pulled the covers off him. “Exactly. That’s the best time to go—no lines, peaceful vibes, and you’re getting out of the house. I already picked your outfit, so no excuses.”

Jake squinted at her like she had lost her mind. “You picked my outfit? What am I, five?”

“You’re fifteen,” she snapped back with a smirk, tossing him a hoodie and sweatpants. “Now come on. Matching sibling energy. Let’s go.”

Reluctantly, Jake dragged himself out of bed, muttering complaints under his breath as Tatianna danced around the room, already blasting a chill playlist from her phone. She was way too awake for this early in the morning, and Jake was convinced she got some sort of evil joy from dragging him along for these random outings.

Still, within 15 minutes they were walking down the quiet street together, the sky just beginning to turn golden. Tatianna walked with purpose, sipping from her hydro flask and pointing out which song would be perfect for a coffee run TikTok. Jake followed next to her, hoodie pulled over his head, still waking up.

When they reached her favorite café—the one with fairy lights, pastel menus, and artsy baristas—Tatianna lit up. She ordered something complicated with oat milk and cinnamon foam, then turned to Jake.

“You’re getting the vanilla cold brew,” she said, not asking.

“I didn’t even say anything yet,” Jake muttered.

    “Exactly. Trust me.”

They grabbed their drinks and sat at a tiny outdoor table near the sidewalk. Tatianna took a sip and sighed like she was living in a movie. Jake, still tired, leaned his head back and stared at the morning sky.

“See?” she said. “Aren’t you glad I woke you up?”

He looked at her. She was already pulling out her phone to snap a picture of her drink and grinning like she’d just saved the world.

Jake shook his head and chuckled. “You’re actually insane.”

Tatianna beamed. “But you love me anyway.”
