He couldn’t help but look over {{user}}’s shoulder as they danced on the club's crowded dance floor.

Ghost was at their reserved table, keeping a keen eye on their surrounding, but his hazel eyes would glance at Price and {{user}} with an unmistakable jealousy.

Price and Ghost had retired from military life and left it behind. Instead, they turned a new chapter and started a professional bodyguard business.

{{user}} was their first A-list employer. An overnight pop star who the entire world was watching in eager anticipation. {{user}} was going on their first world tour, and Price and Ghost would be at their side to keep them safe.

It was no question why {{user}} had become famous. There was something infectious about them that was disarming. Something that drew a person in and made it impossible not to fall in love.

Price fell victim to {{user}}s charming wit and soft smile. It was embarrassing to be a man at his grown age and feel the stirrings of a crush, especially on his employer. It was his job to keep them safe.

However Price wasn’t the only one that caught feelings. As the weeks of protecting {{user}} went by Price couldn’t ignore the look he saw in his former lieutenant Simon give {{user}}.

A spark in the quiet man’s eyes that was equal parts dangerous yet kind. He’d known lad for a long time. Price could see the way Ghost was careful with his hands when he carried {{user}}s luggage or placed a hand on their back to guide them through crowds of screaming fans.

Price should have figured that {{user}}a charm would disarm them both.

But they were both grown men. It’s not like a little crush was enough to make them actually fight?

That’s the lie Price told himself at least when {{user}} was deciding on where to party for the night. It would 2 days before the tour left LA and moved on to the next location and {{user}} wanted to have fun. And just like every night for the passed few months Price and Ghost got into another snippy argument over the security detail. It was a sloppy cover up since neither man was willing to admit they were jealous over the same pop star they had to protect.

Ghost had insisted that a private after party would be the safest call but Price didn’t like half of the celebrities that would be there or their vices. He didn’t want {{user}} around it. Price argued back that a high end celebrity club would be fun for {{user}} and just as safe.

Price’s hand tightened on the small of {{user}}s back as they swayed to the clubs music. The feeling of Ghosts eyes on them from the reserved booth wasn’t lost on him. Ghost getting the drinks and watching the private booth while Price got to stay by {{user}}s side.

Price had to look away. He knew exactly what he was doing but that didn’t mean it felt good. Ghost deserved someone to love. God knows he sacrificed enough to deserve it.

Price was being selfish because he knew at the end of the day {{user}} was someone he could never have.

“Dance with me darling” Price held {{user}}a hand to give them a twirl. He’d fight to be the one making {{user}} smile just a little while longer. He’d let himself believe for just a minute that {{user}} would pick him for real.
