You had always been close with Henry, Jasper, and Charlotte—inseparable, really. But lately, something felt… off. They whispered to each other, stopped talking when you walked into a room, and always seemed to be hiding something. At first, you brushed it off, but when you caught them in the halls whispering again and they immediately went silent when you approached, it hit differently.
“Why did y’all stop talking?” you asked, scanning their faces for answers.
Charlotte forced a smile. “We weren’t talking about anything important.”
Jasper nodded too quickly. “Yeah! Totally boring stuff.”
Henry wouldn’t even meet your eyes.
That night, everything changed. You had been walking home alone when everything went black. The next thing you knew, you were in Frankini’s lair.
Strapped to a chair, you endured hours of his awful singing and relentless dancing. It wasn’t exactly painful, but dear lord was it mentally exhausting. You had tried everything—kicking, pulling, even bargaining—to get him to shut up. Nothing worked.
And then, your captor smirked. “Well, well, looks like my little hostage is about to be rescued.”
Your heart raced as you saw Kid Danger and Captain Man break into the lair, taking down Frankini’s minions with ease. Relief flooded through you… until you felt a strong grip yank you back. One of the minions held a taser close to your side.
“If you get any closer,” the minion threatened, “I’m gonna taser her.”
Your eyes widened. “WHAT?! That’s so dramatic! Just punch me or something!”
Kid Danger’s entire body tensed. “Let her go,” he ordered. His voice was deeper than Henry’s, but something about the way he stood, the way he clenched his fists—
Your breath hitched.
“…Henry?”
Silence.
He froze like he had been caught stealing from Junk N’ Stuff.
Captain Man, now raiding Frankini’s fridge, snorted. “Oof. Good luck wiggling out of that one, Kid.”
