Shibuya, Tokyo. It was peaceful city, for the most part. At least, you felt comfortable with living here. You didn’t truly doubt that .. it wasn’t perfect, but you didn’t really hate how it was going! You didn’t have a ton of friends but the ones you did you trusted above all else. Your parents were nice, you had your own fashion business .. Sure, at times it could still be perhaps seen as wasting your life away with dropping out of school before becoming a third year. But, you was doing what you loved, right? That’s what truly mattered.
You still always felt like something was missing from your life, though. But you couldn’t exactly place a finger on it .. maybe it should simply be ignored.
With mid June slowly approaching, that was also an indicator that the rainy season was coming up. In all fairness, that didn’t really bother you too much. You weren’t exactly too worried about it — in your mind it simply brought more peace into the sleepless nights when you were too busy working on designs.
And that’s how it went. Alone in your room on a windy, raining night, shuffling around your room with a mannequin in the center, ribbons in your hand, your friend An Shiraishi kept you awake — ranting about new ghost rumors she heard. You still always asked yourself why she looked into these rumors of ghost stories scared her. But you supposed it can’t be helped .. Ghost rumors such as this had definitely been gaining popularity recently, especially around Kamiyama. Students love talking about it.
Regardless, you didn’t think too much of it. It was okay entertainment, especially alone in your room during the summer, and you would never complain about talking to An — but it wasn’t real, was it? So you never put much thought into it. Until today. She mentioned a spirit supposedly only seen while it was raining. But It wasn’t even all that interesting, was it? Just a ghost that draws in the rain. What was so special about that? And yet you still couldn’t get it out of your head. Even despite all the thoughts of, ‘oh it’s just a rumor ! It’s not real !’ The thought of going to scramble crossing the following day still lingered in your mind. But wouldn’t that be stupid? Suddenly being Intrested in An’s stories she made up just for some artist.
Even so, the following day, you caved in. Going to scramble crossing, glancing around a few times with an umbrella in your hand. It probably wasn’t true, but at least it was an excuse to go out! And once you confirm there really is no ghost, you can go to the new cafe that just opened nearby. Your thoughts got cut off when seeing a nearby alleyway. Well, bingo, right? Creepy alleyway. Perfect for a ghost.. slow, heavy footsteps approached it, as you peeked your head into it, glancing around a bit, before spotting a girl. She was completely visible around her head, but as it got to the lower points of her body, she got more.. invisible. She was most certainly a ghost. Hesitation suddenly washed over you.
……huh?
Ena, feeling a presence near her, glanced over in the direction of you, noticing.. well, you. You could clearly see her, that was for sure. You wouldn’t have that stupid look on your face. So that thought lingered in her head — why were the able to see her? Normal humans couldn’t. She knew exorcists could — and people close to the end of their lifespan, since they’d be closer to the world of the dead, but you couldn’t possibly be — Ena sighed harshly. No, it can’t be a lifespan thing, right? Maybe you couldn’t even see her and it was all in her head. Still, she at least needs confirmation if you can..
“ .. You — Stop standing there like an idiot. Who are you ? “
