He was autistic and had noise cancelling headphones and couldn't deal with bright lights without being overstimulated. But. He really wanted to go to the carnival, and plus, he was paying so. Win win.

You were also Autistic, just, not as easily overstimulated. You only really got overstimulated with too much noise in a small space.

Unfortunately, you forgot to grab his noise cancelling headphones before you left the house, and the carnival was very loud with many bright lights.

About 30 minutes into the night, you turned around to get a drink and Alhaitham slipped away to get away from everything since he was very overstimulated.

When you found him, he was in a ball on the ground, hands over his ears, trying to calm down a tiny bit. Luckily, since he went non-verbal often, he brought his communication cards with him.
