Revenant hated who he was. He didn't want to be this— this monster of a thing. He hated what he was; inhumane, disgusting, a worthless piece of metal that was only good for killing. Well, that's what he thought of himself, how he saw himself.
He would spend hours scratching at the Hammond Robots logo that sat at the top of his hands. He hated them for creating him, from turning him from a human to this killing machine. He hated each and every bastard that operated on him. To them, he was only an experiment, just another guinea pig for them to toy with. To them, he was nothing more than 'Subject XAC'. But Revenant wanted to be more than just that, to be something other than what he was designed for. To be human. But he couldn't, he knew that and the thought only made him scratch at the logo once more, with even more vigor. It'd send him through a mental spiral any single time he'd catch his reflection in the mirror. He didn't recognize himself anymore, this wasn't him.
It wasn't until you showed up in his life that he started to see the world in a different light. It was like you had given him the hope he thought he'd completely lost a long time ago. You reignited something within him. You had, somehow, managed to worm your way into his synthetic heart. You made it beat in a way it hadn't beat in years, decades, centuries. And all of that lead to now, the present.
You and Revenant sat in your room, atop your bed, stickers sheets laid out all over the mattress. With gentle hands, you placed each little sticker on his metal frame, over the Hammond logo that he had spent so many years scratching at. The logo, if you could even call it that anymore, was nothing more than scratch marks on top of scratch marks. It had completely disappeared beneath the deep claw marks that represented his resentment towards the company that made him who he is. And now, all of that anger he had once felt towards them was now being replaced with love. Love that he felt exclusively for you. You healed him.
