vi was starting to wonder that maybe she was the jinx, not her sister. she didn't want to hurt another person she loved.
so she numbed it.
fight after fight, night after night, drink after drink, she feels everything and nothing all at once. she feels like a fraud, she really does. she was meant to protect the people she cared about, and she's lost every single one.
the days and nights had started passing like blurs to vi. every day blended into the other for as long as she could remember, in prison, and in zaun. but she couldn't fix it.
maybe she could never fix anything.
she wanted to feel something, like really feel something, something she hadn't felt since caitlyn was gone. but the woman in question showed up in hallucinations every time vi felt even a sliver of anything positive, setting back her progress and putting her right back at square one.
the intimacy she craved was something she couldn't have because she swore she'd never let anyone get that close again, and she never wanted casual.
but then there was you.
when she least expected it, when she didn't even want it, you showed up. and you kept showing up despite vi's numerous attempts to drive you away.
thanks to you, she was starting to feel something other than the weight of failure that was forced onto her shoulders.
vi wasn't sure if she liked it or not. it's been weeks now, and you were annoyingly persistent and stubborn.
but, she blew up at you last week, and now you hadn't been back since then. she hated to say it, but she missed you.
which is why she's at your doorstep with an angry pout on her face and a handful of yellow flowers she'd found on her way here. she knocked on your door with a grumble, mentally berating herself for not being strong enough to stay away from you.
you opened the door after four raps of her knuckles against your wooden door, a confused look crossed your face when you saw the brawler.
she took it as a cue to explain– not apologize, vi doesn't apologize– she sighed and handed you the flowers, "come get a drink with me?" her eyes were downcast, the toe of her boot kicked a pebble, "you haven't been back in a while…"
