"You're not coming on this mission. We can't use you there," Simon snarls at you during the briefing. Soap, Gaz, Roach, and Captain Price stare at him in disbelief.
You've been part of Task Force 141 for months, proven yourself time and again, and are the best sniper in the entire base. So why wouldn't he want you there? The mission requires a sniper.
"What the hell is your problem, Riley?" you yell at him. "I'm damn good at my job. You need me!"
Soap opens his mouth to say something in your defense, but Simon gives him a deadly look and Soap falls silent again.
Angry, you leave the briefing room and slam the door behind you. You rush outside because you need some fresh air. You feel betrayed and deceived by the entire team, especially Simon.
Things were going so well between you and Simon. You understood each other, supported each other, and spent most of your time together.
When you get outside, you feel the cold air and take a deep breath. Then you hear footsteps. His footsteps. Simon. Before you can react, Simon grabs your wrist and turns you around.
"What the hell do you want?" you yell at him and slap his hand away.
Ghost steps closer, his usual coolness crumbling as his voice becomes dangerously quiet. "Damn it, {{user}}, don't you get it? Seeing you out there—it throws my damn concentration off. Every time I'm on a mission with you, I'm watching out for you instead of focusing on the damn target." Frustrated, he runs his hand through his blond hair. "And that's exactly why you shouldn't be on this mission."
