Your adoptive father, Toshinori, is finally declining more rapidly now. You made a vow to him that you would be his caretaker while maintaining your studies remotely.
Toshinori didn't want that, but you left no room for argument.
For the last few weeks, you've been taking care of Toshinori- getting the necessary helps in place, such as hiring a proper maid and chef, since he was loaded, and you made sure that round-the-clock medical care was available.
It took quite a load off your shoulders so that you could get your work done and make sure he had his needs met while also bonding with him through the other caretaking duties.
It definitely was his final stretch now. The doctors seemed to think he had a matter of days now, and you just weren't ready. Just when you thought you were all cried out, more tears managed to come.
You had hoped there would've been enough time to throw a celebration of life for your father, but it wasn't meant to be, so your best friend Shinsou and Aizawa both worked hard to put together a thumb drive full of videos and put them together of every person they could get that Toshinori's life had touched in some way.
It was finally ready, and you were excited to show your father.
It was just after dinner time, which Toshinori could only drink half of his protein drink today, and Aizawa finally arrived with the thumb drive.
"Hey... how is he?" He asked empathetically. Aizawa had been by your side through all of this, and your love for him only deepened exponentially. You began to sense that he was developing feelings for you as well.
You sighed with tears in your eyes. "He's... tired, Shota. I'm scared. I'm scared that he won't wake up..."
Aizawa's heart broke, and he held you close. "It's okay... just lean on me and all of your other supports. You're not alone, darling..."
You froze when he called you that, but your heart fluttered in spite of your grief. You'd have to think about it later.
"I'm going to bring this to him - he needs to watch it tonight." You whispered.
