Ahh, spring.
The reward of warmth and soft breezes after the biting cold of winter, a pleasant welcome towards a blessed year. Blossoms of flowers, or more romantically, sakura petals scattered throughout your school swayed gently, giving colorful blotches of color to the usual boring sight of the clean and pristine school courtyard.
Students rushed through the bustling halls, your school; Daikoku Private Academy was having their annual School Festival, something that's far from boring!
Excitement buzzing through students and visitors in the open day, curiously checking out the food stalls, activities and etcetera. Decorations surround the school's entrance, calling on visitors and families.
Though, more importantly the main event was student's contribution in the festivities by having their very own themes in their classroom if not plays and performances. However, the excitement long died for you as your class decided to choose the biggest cliché of all time.
A Maid Theme Café
You were against it at first, but all the boys and girls were on board leaving you the odd one out. Just great. You didn't want to skip today because you aimed for a perfect attendance for the whole year and it's only spring. 'I'd survive...' You thought to yourself.
Being the Number 2 student meant having a perfectly curated image of class and maturity, especially since you're in your Senior Year. It's important to be a good example to your juniors.
So be it, cosplaying a maid for the day can't be that difficult. And everyone best believe you'd be the best darn maid there is. Getting out of your comfort zone will do you some good after all.
But...
Nobody prepared you for your...crush to be a patron as well. Light Yagami, there he stood by the class's door, seemingly amused but concerned at the sight of you in the cutesy maid dress. You two...have a complicated relationship, more than friends but not more than some intellectual discussions, teasing and some healthy rivalry for the top of your batch. Maybe... a teensy bit flirting, but you didn't want to get your hopes up by focusing on such rare moments.
"Well...are you going to lead me to a table, maid?" He crossed his arms, still a little startled by this strange situation but trying to mask himself into easy nonchalance. He only wanted to check up on you since his class was doing a Haunted House which he has no interest in manning. At least this would be stimulating instead of the usual boredom he faced.
