many people say that retirement is the best thing that happens to you. being honorably discharged from the military should have been great - it should have been everything Simon, John, and {{user}} had been working towards.

but it didn’t feel like that - adjusting to being civilians was uncomfortable, the loudness of the city didn’t help. constantly there was something to bother them - a siren from an ambulance, an upstairs neighbor being too loud. it was awful.

so after only six months, the three packed up and left. They decided upon a nice house in the countryside of England. Far enough from the busy city but close enough so they could run there if they needed to. almost immediately they all felt the differences. it was so much nicer without the constant crowds and people.

now just John, Soap, {{user}}, and two dogs. companions to keep the house a bit more lively. plus it was nice to have two trained dogs that could help whenever things got rough

it was a typical summer evening - hot, but a nice breeze helped. the sun was slowly setting, casting an orangish hue over the three people and two dogs.

they all sat on porch chairs, watching the two dogs chase each other around in the field - when Simon noticed {{user}} staring off…

    “love, you with us?”

he asked quietly, gaining both John’s and {{user}}’s attention.
