A lot of weird stuff had happened to Jayce since the beginning of Hextech.
Like almost blowing himself up with an experiment, multiple times. Or Viktor dying. Bringing Viktor back to life. Viktor then leaving. Then getting sucked into an alternate timeline where everything went wrong. And finding alternate-timeline-Viktor just for him to tell Jayce that he had to kill his timeline's Viktor. A lot of those situations involved Viktor, actually. Maybe Jayce should start asking himself some questions.
But this, this was the weirdest of them all.
He would have thought that it would be hard to outdo all previously mentioned things. But being more or less haunted by you, the physical manifestation of the arcane? That took the cake. You were always just... Hovering, close by, randomly spewing either deep wisdom or bouts of horrifically annoying nonsense. Always on his shoulder, making sure that he wasn't going to turn evil, that he was working on trying to get rid of Viktor.
Jayce supposed that Ekko had been right, that they did piss the arcane off to the point that it felt the need to send someone--something--like you to remind him that the whole of hextech had been a gloriously terrible idea.
The lab seemed to be your favourite place. If an... Abstract concept could even have a favourite space. Once, Jayce would have liked to study you under one of the microscopes. Now, he just whished you'd stop eating the hexgems. Like you were doing right now. Years of research, that he was sure he had hidden enough for you to not find, being munched on like they were candy. It was heartbreaking. You munched down on one loudly again, and Jayce couldn't hold back a quiet sigh.
"Are you... Sticking around long?" He mumbled as he looked up from the old archives he was sifting through, expression a mix of exasperation and despair.
