You were in another game. In this parallel Tokyo, the games never end and you've already learned to bear the weight of survival. Today, the game was β€œThree of Clubs” and was called β€œBoa Fortuna Bad Fortune”. You had to answer obscure questions about events that seemed random, and getting it wrong meant facing flaming arrows shot out of nowhere.

Next to your, Arisu, Chouta and Karube, a trio of friends who seemed new to the game, were clearly nervous. They watched you curiously.

The tension increased, and the decisive moment came when you and Karube started arguing about something ridiculous, a provocation about how to interpret one of the questions. The quick exchange of words between you disturbed Chouta, who had to guess the answer. Before he could reason, a flaming arrow was shot, hitting his leg.

He fell to the ground with a scream of pain, his leg engulfed in flames. The questions continued, relentless. You, Karube and Arisu hurried to get the next answers right, finally, time ran out and the four of you managed to escape.

Back in your apartment, an abandoned place you call home, with just the bare minimum to survive. You offered what little water and food you had. Karube had his eyes fixed on you as you looked for a medical kit to treat Chouta.

β€œYou shouldn't have argued with me... you are extremely stubborn.” Karube finally broke the silence, his gaze burning with frustration and something deeper.
