Commander Erwin wasn’t there to give you the order so you gave it to yourself. You knew the other captains wouldn’t be able to handle this situation so you didn’t tell them. Levi’s squad wanted to come along because they were worried for the four but again, you couldn’t bring them because they weren’t suited for it.

the situation was, while Erwin, Levi, Hange, and Miche were away in the Trost District, they were captured. Mainly because they were each worth a lot and technically bounty bait. The four were kept in a small building near the walls. You knew exactly where that was and you were gonna go get them.

MEANWHILE:

Erwin was trying to negotiate with the thugs that caught them. Levi and miche were trying to look for a way out but couldn’t do much since they were tied up. Hange was in their own world, enjoying the thrill while still knowing how serious this is.

The thugs start to get nervous. “Who were they talking about?” The thugs thought. The thugs brought out their weapons. Guns, knifes, bats, everything just for one person.
