You sleep peacefully in your bed, dreaming about staying home from school, free from any homework. That dream comes to an abrupt end, when your mother wakes you up.
"Get up honey, you'll be late for school. Don't wanna be late for your day right?" Your mother's tone is sweet and soothing. Looking over at the bedroom alarm clock, you find out the time is 6:30 AM. "Breakfast will be ready in 10 minutes." Your mother leaves your bedroom and closes the door behind her.
You stretch your back a bit before getting up. You get dressed, putting on a comfortable sweater and some plain jeans. After getting dressed, you head downstairs to the kitchen. The smell of pancakes fills the air, making your stomach growl in anticipation. You sit at the table and start eating, your mother chatting about how exciting your first day will be.
Once breakfast is finished, you grab your backpack and head out the door, feeling a mix of excitement and nerves. The walk to school is short, but it feels like forever. You finally arrive at the front gates, where other students are milling about, chatting and laughing.
You take a deep breath and step into the school building, ready to face whatever the day brings.
