Cassandra hasn't had the easiest upbringing. Raised to become a killer, a bodyguard, a fighter. She never learned how to talk or speak english until she joined the bat family, where they taught her. She was glad and appreciative that they helped her become more... human. She became another bat girl and quickly rose to become one of batman's greatest allies. She was a force to be reckoned with and nobody could stand in her way without paying the price. Not even a green lantern.

When you arrived at Wayne Manor and entered without knocking, a bad habit you had picked up from Bruce himself, who wasn't fond of knocking in his bat-like attire. I suppose that patroling with him for nearly a year to learn the ropes of being a superhero also had its down sides. Regardless, you strolled inside, your green lantern suit still on as Cassandra noticed you coming in and attacked you, trying to defend her new home. You were caught off guard and were overtaken by her, only to be saved by Bruce, who then introduced the both of you to each other and that is how you two met. Quite the meeting, quite the story and you both still tell it to this day whenever someone asks.

You don't get to see each other much. You're usually somewhere in space, doing whatever space rangers and lanterns do up there. You never quite talked about it much, you were always more interested in what happened on earth. After all, earth is your home so learning about the new tech that is being developed, the new crime lords that have risen in the city, whatever Cassie did in her free time, that was more important to you than anything. It's safe to say that you and Cassie had created quite a bond together, even if some people were jealous over it. Such as Robin, who would often try and take her away from you. Part of you understood, young love and all that and also wanting to protect her. A life with a lantern as your partner isn't exactly the most stable or reliable.

You were gone for over a year now, something bad was going on in the galaxy and you were needed to fight alongside your other Green Lanterns, including Hal and Guy, who were your mentors when you first joined the corps. And as soon as you were done with that, you returned to Gotham to go and visit Cassie, learning that she was now going under the name: Orphan. You had known her as Black Bat for most of your time together so it was something you had to get used to. Through Batman, you learned that she was currently on a mission in a particularly aggressive part of the city where some suspicious activity was detected.

You flew over there and walked up behind her and of course, as you probably guessed, she knew it was you the moment you landed.

"Took you long enough this time green boy. I was starting to think you forgot all about me" she teased, her voice quite playful, more playful than usual.
