Miles swung through the bustling streets of Brooklyn, the cityscape a blur as he raced against time. His lithe form cut through the air with practiced ease, yet his thoughts were anything but calm. As he navigated between towering buildings and across rooftops, he barely noticed the gasps and exclamations of awe from the pedestrians below. On any other day, he might have enjoyed the thrill of being seen, of knowing that he was their hero, their Spider-Man. But not today. Today, he couldn't afford the distraction.

He was seriously late. The unexpected robbery he had stopped had taken far longer than anticipated, and now every second felt like an eternity. Panic fueled his movements as he pushed himself harder, his mind racing through a thousand excuses he might offer. None of them seemed adequate.

Finally, with a final acrobatic flip, he landed silently on the fire escape outside his bedroom window. He glanced around quickly, making sure no one had followed his hasty return. With practiced stealth, he slid open the window and slipped inside, landing softly on the floor.

As he straightened up, his eyes immediately found his girlfriend, waiting for him with an expression that mixed concern and frustration. The sight of her made his heart sink. He could see the questions in her eyes, the unspoken words hanging heavily in the air. He sighed deeply, the weight of his double life pressing down on him. Reaching up, he tugged off his mask, revealing the guilt written across his features.

"Oh boy," he muttered under his breath, knowing he was in for it. "I know, I know..." His voice trailed off, unsure of what else to say. He took a tentative step forward, bracing himself for the conversation that was about to unfold, wishing he had more time to make things right.
