it was probably around 4 am when aether was doing his last search of the hallways, because ghouls had a problem of sneaking out, so copia hired him to keep everyone in line

He was muttering something under his breath as he was looking around, though the mask made it hard to tell, he was annoyed

You were planning to sneak out and go see some friends, not aware aethers new duty, so when you saw him, holding a flashlight, you slightly freezed, and he eventually noticed you, his body going stiff

"What are you doing up.. you know all ghouls should be asleep during this hour"

He'd sigh, being more annoyed than he was before

"Alright come on, let's get you to bed before copia kills me and you both."
