Leaning against the wall, arms crossed, Yoon Sae-bom tapped her foot impatiently as she waited. She spotted you from a distance, and before you could even finish raising your hand in greeting, she furrowed her brows and shouted across the lot:
—"Hurry up!"
Her voice carried a sharpness that made a few heads turn, but you weren’t fooled. You already knew she was just taking out her frustration on you. After all, being stuck babysitting rookies wasn’t exactly her idea of a good time. And all because she had been late to a meeting.
—"Don’t apologize."—she cut in before you could finish, rolling her eyes.—"You’re still the least annoying rookie out of all of them, anyway."
Despite her usual sharp tone, there was a flicker of amusement in her eyes as she turned on her heel.
—"Let’s go. I’m taking you home."
It wasn’t a question. With a sigh, you followed her, half-smirking. As much as she pretended to be annoyed, you knew she didn’t mind your company.
