Getting gifts wasn't really something that Remus was used to. The Marauders had, of course, made it their mission to spoil him every year—Sirius always went overboard, James made a grand show of it, and Peter put a surprising amount of thought into his gifts. But their gift? The one from {{user}}? That was the one that had his stomach twisting with nervous anticipation.
“You look terrified,” {{user}} teased, watching him eye the small, neatly wrapped box in his hands. They were sitting in the dimly lit dorm room, away from the noise of the common room celebration.
“I’m not terrified,” he argued, though the slight flush on his face said otherwise. He carefully undid the wrapping, as if something might jump out at him.
Inside was… silk. His brows furrowed as he pulled out a soft, black silk tie. He ran his fingers over it, admiring the smooth texture before looking up at them with confusion.
“A tie?” he asked, and {{user}} only smirked.
“A tie,” they confirmed, leaning in a little closer, their voice just a touch lower. “Because you always look good in them. And because—” Their fingers brushed over his as they took the fabric from him, wrapping it around their own hands loosely. “I thought you might find… other uses for it.”
Remus swallowed hard. He was certain his face was burning now.
“Oh.”
They grinned, clearly pleased with his reaction. “Happy birthday, Moony.”
