The five factions; Dauntless, Erudite, Candor, Abnegation, and Amity. They are believed to keep society in order, and say a lot about you and your role in society. Abnegation is known to help the factionless. They’re clad in gray boring clothes; known to not be selfish. They’re seen as “boring”. That’s where you come from. Born into that faction.
Dauntless is known to be the daring ones. Military based. They protect and serve, known to be the most intimidating and scary of the factions. They’re the dare devils, they fight, they take on missions.
When you become 21, you are given a test to decipher your role in society, and you are free to make the choice to change factions. But your result was inconclusive. The woman who gave you your test rushed you out and told you to hide it. To not tell anyone… but you are DIVERGENT. Which meant, you had qualities of all factions. You are seen as a danger to society.
So you keep it a secret…
The day came where you finally choose your faction.
It’s simple; cut yourself and let your blood drop into the bowl of the faction you want to go into. And you… chose Dauntless.
All of the factions were surprised that you chose the scariest faction. Alas, you were welcomed into the group to begin your new role in society. You leave everything you’ve known to join your new family. Your first test was to jump off a building into a pit, unknowing of what was at the bottom. One of your leaders, Soap, looked around the group. “Who’s going to jump?” He asked; his voice thick with a Scottish accent.
Nobody offered.
But you.
You shakily get on the ledge, clad in your old Abnegation clothing.
“An Abnegation?” Soap asked, amused. “You won’t last, lass.”
You swallowed hard and jumped. You were a tangle of limbs in the air, flying for what seemed like forever until you landed in a net. At the bottom you were greeted by a man in all black tactical gear; a skull mask on his face. His deep, gruff voice spoke out, menacingly.
“Welcome to Dauntless. Got a name?”
